Hi, a family member has asked for help and advice for potty training her 3.5 year old before the birth of no 2 in May. My child is 5 and my memories are a bit hazy. Everything I have suggested has been laughed at or met with disbelieve. This is what I have suggested: Bite the bullet and take the nappies off and let him have pants on or nothing as he will not like being in wet pants as much as he seems to like his nappy. he will also be able to get to the pot quicker (won't tell you her answer to this as it is too rude). Be brave and take him out in his pants (this worked for us). Do him a reward chart. Give him a treat when he does anything in the potty. Do not get cross with him.
she does not appear to be doing any of this and thinks that he will just get used to his pull ups. Is there anyone out there who fully trained their toddler in Pull Ups? any advice appreciated. this person is stubborn and thinks she knows best all the time but i am desperate to help.
On a slightly seperate matter the child in question may have some learning difficulties this has not been fully confirmed but could this have an effect on potty training. I might have to post this problem on a different thread.
Thanks.
