when eg little one hurts himself etc

and i want to check him out he goes mental and screams and actually starts a tantrum whereas be4 was only crying

as a mumnsnetter told me probably a pride thing

what can i do?

i end up getitng angry and have said "ok you do what you want" and actually sometimes have even said "go away" - and then hell breaks loose as he understands me and starts crying even more..i doint mean it but in thick of moment my worries makes me so mad at him for not hugging me and letting me check out his injuries

i cant help him but i cant leave him

what can i do?

nothing much you can do. I had one of those, if ever he hurt himself he would just push me away. it was heartbreaking, but as he got older he gradually started letting me give him a cuddle.

really so others do this do...just find it so odd he never wants a cuddle form me...pushes me away!!!

how old is he? mine was like it until he was at least 3/3.5 ish when he astounded me by leaping on me for a quick cuddle then jumping off again lol

my mum and partner didn't believe me that he had cuddled me.
he is now 4 and a bit and very cuddly and I am the only one allowed to kiss him better if he falls down! awwww

yep, just like mine. weird isn't it? you just want to comfort them but they won't let you.

wonder if it's a boy thing

bumbly · 08/04/2009 21:35

actually embarrassing when in public - folk think something weird going on - maybe there is now that i think about it

anyway...what do i do?

i don't know, i didn't find anything that helped, I just let him deal with it in his own way. after a while he stopped doing it.

bumbly, don't worry in fact the bigger thing yhou make of it the more they will respond.

When I get hit on the head I hate anyone coming near me. (in fact get annoyed if they do, though dont show it)... I find it is because I get a bit crowded and claustrophobic and am fine if left on my own.

I would just say. 'are you ok/' and let him come to you if he wants.

and as for what others think - sod 'em. Anyone can see you look concerned, and other than that they wont be thinking much
