DD is 3.2yo. She has been day trained for 6/7mths now but night training is new to me. I started her last week, she was dry 2 nights then she started wetting the bed, just once a night. I put the potty in her room for night times and this has now stopped and in the morning when everyone is up the potty has a wee & a poo in (has had for 3 mornings now!)..

Do you think its ok having the potty in her room for this ?

Obviously its not gonna be a long term thing - like it won't be there when shes 5/6/7 etc

Sounds really good to me I just hope my DD takes to it as quickly when we start nighttimes!

Yep fine have been doing this with my DS since night training. Thin it's a little too much to expext them to leave their room and go to the toilet in the middle of the night at first. Get them used to going first then mov eon from there.

Good luck

That is much preferable to our DS1s (3.5) nighttime toileting. He comes into our bedroom and stands by the side of the bed whispering 'I want a wee' until I wake up and take him. I wish he would do what your DD is doing

Claire2009 · 08/04/2009 21:46

Aww Joe, He will in time go to the toilet himself, They are all so different

I was checking in case perhaps I was doing it wrong, she's my 1st (have a 23mo too) and at times I really havent got a clue

He goes to the toilet himself when in nursery as they have little toilets for little people. He won't use a step for big toilets, he worries about falling off! At least that is what he is telling me....

Claire2009 · 08/04/2009 22:01

DD goes to the toilet at nursery and at home, its just at nights she's more comfortable waking to wee in the potty rather than asking for me to help her come downstairs or come downstairs on her own.......... hmmm their never easy kids are they Xmas Grin
