DH's friend has invented something for mums and it is a secret- help me guess...

Dh's female colleague told him yesterday that she has invented something that will help mums (and presumably dads too).

She is a single breastfeeding parent if that offers any clues??

She has said there are two parts to it which are both being patented seperately and nothing similar exists. She is keeping it secret until its all gone through.

What could it be????????????

You're a nosy sow.

A wife. And a butler.

suwoo · 08/04/2009 13:05

It might be really good though and something we all want to buy like a nappy wrapper

OP posts:
suwoo · 08/04/2009 13:06

Don't think she's that way inclined Zachary

I know!! I know!!

The two parts are:

  1. Extra hand.
  1. Pair of eyes for back of head.

Where do I get my prize?

Hassled · 08/04/2009 13:21

A small robot that glides around the house picking things up and putting them back where they should live.

suwoo · 08/04/2009 13:23

That's what I think too flibberty, one of the reasons I so keen to know what it is so I can scoff

andirobo · 08/04/2009 13:34

Suwoo you can buy a baby wipe heater for £25 already!!

Maybe it is something to put the baby in bed and get it to sleep all night - well I would pay for that!!

suwoo · 08/04/2009 14:07

Yeah I know, but I thought it might be of that ilk

Me too andirobo, me too! Any improvements?

OR its some kind of flask/toast dispensing unit cos if she's a single parent she can't say 'be a love and get me some tea and toast while I'm feeding baby'.

No no no its YET ANOTHER perfect design of sling for bfing baby whilst working out at the gym.

Flibbertyjibbet · 08/04/2009 14:30
suwoo · 08/04/2009 14:39

Ooh now you're talking flibberty, she seems like just the sort that would invent a bf sling for gym use .

She works part time with DH and is writing a novel in her spare time. I'm sure DH must think I'm a right lazy cow for not having time to patent my own pfb invention whilst writing a book on the treadmill

OP posts:
Flibbertyjibbet · 08/04/2009 14:45

Oh right you are doing a stealth revelation thingy.

Its a special laptop rest/platform so she can type her book without baby's feeding head being in the way and the 2nd patentable bit is a mini-sling to keep baby's head in place at the breast so as not to disturb the rythm of her fingers.

Holy guacamole... she is a pfb writing a childcare book on how to juggle career, gym visits, creative-writing-for-a-profit and being a fab mummy.

suwoo · 08/04/2009 15:02

I will reveal as soon as I know what it is, if she lets it slip to DH when she is pissed perhaps.

She's not much of an ambassador for us mums is she . Maybe she's another Myleene Klass sort...hmm DH has a thing for her.

OP posts:
Pinkjenny · 08/04/2009 15:03

God, I can't fecking stand Myleene Klass. She's so perfect, I could puke.

suwoo · 08/04/2009 15:05

I hate dislike her too. Don't think Dh is as arsed about her since she produced though. I actually secretly like some of her baby clothes at Mothercare.

OP posts:
Pinkjenny · 08/04/2009 15:07

Yeah, I like some of it too, but possibly wouldn't dress L in black.

suwoo · 08/04/2009 16:10

I love black on babies (not a common theme on MN I note) DS was almost permanently in black and still often is.

OP posts:
Pinkjenny · 08/04/2009 16:11

Not for me at all. I would never put in L in a biker jacket. Your ds would look divine in anything, cutie pops that he is.

Gorionine · 08/04/2009 16:18

Do you know for what age group baby it is (crawling or not)? If it is for crawling babies I would go for some sort of sponges you can velcro to your DC and it cleans the floor as they move on. could have a scrub version and a wax polish version?

suwoo · 08/04/2009 16:29

Ha Gorionine, I'm sure that has been patented already if we googled it.

No, I draw the line at biker jackets and this

Thanks for the compliment and your DD is hardly a horror is she.

Anyway, hijack over.....no idea of age group or any particular type of item either.
