A question about level 3 courses with ou?

I am on my first level 3 course and have just got a really bad mark for my first tma. The feedback the tutor has given me is really vague and does not really give any guidance as to how I could of got a better mark. All my other courses the feedback has been really helpful and given me ideas on how to improve myself despite getting a high mark. Is this because it is a level 3? Or is it just the tutor? I dont want to ask for more feedback if the feedback is vague as it is a higher level. But I feel very discouraged by the mark and lack of direction. Thanks in advance

Sorry you've had a disappointing mark and no useful feedback orangehead - it's nothing to do with it being a level 3 course though. I would put together an email to your tutor to ask for more specific feedback on how you could have improved your mark for this TMA: tutors should do this at all levels. Good luck

Orangehead - I got a really bad mark for my first TMA on one of the courses I am doing this year - and it's my second L3 course.
I just got my result for my second TMA tonight - it's 89%!
I think the first TMA is really hard, because you have to get a feel for the course, but you should definitely ask for more feedback if you don't know what went wrong.
Just ask something really simple like 'what do you suggest I can do to improve my mark next time?'

I think its normal to get a poor mark for tma1 as you are just getting to grips with the materials. I have also found feedback on the frontsheet feedback thingy less than helpful, esp as it is very summative such as "the structure of your essay is not clear" with no guidance on how to make it clear. Are the comments in the actual script any better? Definately email/ring your tutor. Has your course got a message board that would help?

Thanks. The front sheet is really vague, basicially I need to add more detail. The actual script she has only picked up on some grammar errors. Its my fourth course and I have never had feedback so vague. I have also found the tutorials unhelpful, unlike all the other courses the tutorials have really given me food for thought at the tutorials. But again I was wondering if this was due to it being a level 3. Anyway I have emailed her.
