Has anybody trained as a Financial Advisor? Or is an IFA? I'm thinking I would like to study again.

I have been toying with the idea of getting back to study of late and quite fancy the CeFA as a starting point. What route would those that have qualified recommend?

How long, presuming I go at it at a reasonable pace, is it likely to take? My degree was 6 years part-time and I have to admit that by the end I was shattered.
I still work full time but DS is older so I think it would be easier for me.

Any thoughts or experience please?

TIA

I was going to reccommend MoneySavingExpert.com forums as theres bound to be people on there who can help.

Then I did a search to see what CeFA was and it gave me this link which is on MSE

Am also interested in doing this, would be good to see if anyone has actually done it recently.

Thanks for that link Lmccrean - really useful. I think I will sign up and ask some specific questions on there.

Onlyaphase have thought much about how you would study?

I need to do it in the evenings at the moment until I can leave my current(sales and marketing) role and find something to build experience. OU don't seem to offer it unfortunately and the choice of colleges in my area is limited.

And....

Does everyone else worry about the what if I can't study anymore thing?

I am bloody minded and certainly not a quitter once I decide to do something but it's been 6 years since I graduated and I'm worrried my functions are wine soaked fading. I'm 34.
