Us and our friends need some inspiration. We have cars - the tube is difficult temporarily due to various things but apart from that .

Things on the list so far are:

Musuems (childhood, transport, RAF etc)

????

The kids are ages 8 months to 5 years old and we don't really want soft play etc but more places to visit or an easy to reahc beach and anything else that probably doesn't exist!!

Museum of Childhood is great

Sutton House has dressing up boxes (check opening times) and a nice cafe

If it's not pissing down, the South Bank is good fun for a bit of a jaunt - got the manmade 'beach' alongside the Thames, boat trips if you fancy it, the Royal festival hall (very child friendly space), London Eye, lots to see on a walk...

Hampstead Heath (again if not raining)

Epping Forest is one of my favourite jaunts

Coram's Fields, Bloomsbury - if the weather is good.
Splashing in the fountains at Somerset House - check for their family weekends for additional stuff to do.
Ours always enjoyed a sprint round the Tate Modern or Tate Britain - preferably both with a trip on the Tate to Tate spotty boat in between.
The Rowing Museum in Henley - has a lovely Wind the Willows section and there is a good playground on the banks of the Thames just a short walk away.
The Roald Dahl museum in Great Missenden
The Geffrye Museum usually has good activities for kids.
And the caves at West Wycombe - spooky!

The City Farm at Surrey Quays is great but a bit of a schlepp from North London - although we used to do it fairly often and meet up with south-of-the-river friends there.
