right, i have a MT (babyhawk) and a didymos atm. love them both but am planning to start more back carrying as 6 mo dd is quite hefty. i think the wrap is prob best for comfort and support but will be boiling in summer. would a gauze wrap be a good idea for a large-ish baby? she was 20lb at 4 months, so prob somewhere around 22lb atm i guess? scuse terrible typing am multi tasking! thanks! any tips for better back carries w MT v welcome too!

We had a wilkinet baby carrier, which can be used in various different ways, including back carrying. I didn't do baby wearing, but did use the wilkinet a fair amount and found it very comfortable, though it was hot.

A gauze wrap prob won't be supportive enough for an older baby.

With the MT - I can't get on with ruck straps - I always cross on the front, and then do a lexi twist on the back - this makes it super supportive.

Loads of great videos on YouTube

I carry my 2.10 year old, and it's not too hot in the summer

thanks all! might try one at a slingmeet before taking the plunge then. and will work on my back wrap technique too. i wish my MT straps were a bit longer, not sure if can do a lexi twist with mine...

loopymumsy, i just did a BWCC with front knot, it was brilliant! so much easier to stretch the fabric up high enough! thanks for the suggestion. much more flattering too .
