Super-confident 20-month-old goes all clingy - normal?

It's probably just a phase I know, but DS has been super-confident and outgoing since he first learned to smile and flirt at ladies in cafes.

Runs off when I drop him off at nursery. General air of 'she'll be back when she's hungry' when I leave the room.

But the last week he's wailed when I drop him off at nursery, or leave the room, or lose sight of him at baby gym.

It's weird. I think his last teeth are coming through, and he's waking up earlier and is v snotty, so maybe something else bothering him - but if it's a phase, I want to help him.

Any thoughts?

Its very possible he's just not feeling well. My Ds is like this, never ever clingy but he has asthma and when he's poorly he cries after me even when i go to the loo.

yes.

help him by responding to his askings for cuddles, etc. when a need is responded to it goes away.

I have been, honestly! Lots and lots of cuddles these last few days (V much appreciated on both sides ).

Just waiting for him to grow out of it or get better (or properly ill) I suppose.

Thank you.

FG could have written that post dd 19 mo and currently cries when we leave her at nursey after 10 months of being fine, waking at 05:30 and snots ahoy.

Yesterday i noticed her hand halfway down her throat a few times and i am wondering if her very back teeth are coming in. Dh say she has all her teeth but is not sure how many they get bless him!!

This is my dd, also 19mo!V clingy, nose like a tap, lots of cuddles during the day, but oddly enough doesn't want the cuddle before her daytime sleep anymore, just points to cot and says "me in there"!
