Fuzzi Bunz leaking...what am I doing wrong?

Hi, DS uses the new-style fuzzi bunz and just recently they have been completely leaking through to his clothes after about 2 hours. I'm checking that the fleece lining and paper liner are all tucked inside. Do I just need a better booster? Instead of the ones I have or as well as??

if the insert is saturated when you take it out then yes its boosting required

Flamesparrow · 24/03/2009 11:59

What she said. Oh, and I wouldn't bother with the paper liner tbh.

didnt see bit about paper liner - i always find in pockets these just make a channel for pee to run out of if gushing out quick

Wash them thru a few times without powder to get rid of any residue - I find I need two inserts too.

Ah, so new inserts then...I'll try without the paper liner and washing without powder to see if that helps. Thanks for all the replies!

I find that my 2yo little boy always leaks when I put him in a Fuzzibunz with microfibre insert. Two inserts together are a lot better - but the best option has been a pad folded prefold! I think it's just that he's quite a heavy wetter and the urine just gets pressed out of the microfibre - whereas it's retained a lot better with the cotton prefold. So, might be worth trying!

WindUpBird · 25/03/2009 10:15

Thanks Rachel, will do...I was just about to get rid of all my prefolds. The reason i liked FBs was that they were so slim-line. Seems a shame to go back to the bulky prefolds, ah well.

Well, depending on how big the prefolds are, I've not found them too bulky. Guess it depends on build of child and what clothes they're wearing too. But if you have prefolds to hand, might at least be worth trying. I just fold down one end and put the double layer in the front for my little boy - or back when my daughter has worn them.

i had exactly the same problem with FB, extra boosting as the others have said should do the trick

i find a hemp booster stops it being bulky btw they are very absorbant yet slim, you could also use bamboo.
ime microfibre isnt great for the older baby.

Don't overboost though as you will get gaping legs which will lead to leaks!

VickyNappymania · 01/05/2009 22:09

Been reading all the above advice. My 13 month old son has leaked through each time he has worn the FB (used both night & day). Will try some of the above re: extra boosting & see if we can't stop the leaking (seems to be around legs, not waist)

Also, make sure the stuffing goes all the way to the edges, especially around the gusset area. I used to wrap a microfibre towel round the stuffing to pad the gusset out. I also never used poppered vests with pocket nappies as they all got caught up together causing the leaks.
