Put him in big boy pants about six months ago, all went well (few accidents when tired) until about 6 weeks ago. He is now pooing and weeing nearly all the time in his pants.

The toilet is accessible, I ask him if he needs to go and yet he still does it, then denies it once he's had an accident.

I have tried everything.

I know about UTIs possibly causing wee accidents, but could there be anything physically wrong with him re. the poos?

Its not that he's scared or worried about the toilet as he does go sometimes.

I'm desperate... he starts school in September, what happens if he's still having accidents then?

Is it a phase? help me please before i go bonkers...

Why don't you start potty training him again.

Follow the exact steps you did when you began training him and see if that works ?

Don't ask him - just sit him. After a while, he'll probably improve as he's done it before.

Is he poorly? Nervous about something? Feeling under too much pressure?

Can't really suggest anything as mine's much younger. Sure it is a phase. He won't be like this forever and school are used to accidents in reception.

pop... i think i am doing that, asking him if he wants to go, rewarding/praising when he does.

wowoo... nope not poorly or nervous. possibly feels under pressure as he knows its making me cross.

are they really used to accidents in reception? what if he poos four times a day there though? surely they wont put up with that?

i dont know whether to put him in nappies again but he's going to be 4 in August FGS !!!

I meant the odd accident. Am sure he will be back on track by then, it's ages away when you think what you can achieve in a week.

I can understand you getting cross as I would too but try not to show it.

I'm not potty training almost 3 yr old as he's not ready poo- wise. Have been hanging around on by loo for a lot of this morning as it's just 'so much fun'!?
Dreading it all.....

am not an expert on poo of course but 4 times a day pooing is a lot more than my kids who would both only do 1 or 2 max. If this is a change for him, maybe discuss diet with hv or someone knowledgable.

thanks horsey but he always poos 4-8 times a day. i think its a result of all the fruit he eats !
