Stacinator wool wraps

Hi all,
I am desperate to get my hands on a medium Stacinator wool wrap but I'm buggered if I can find any in the UK; there's one US site selling them but the postage is going to be outrageous. Does anyone know of any lurking in a corner of the web that I've missed please?
Ta.

Or alternatively something that is equally good and more readily available; it needs to have a high enough rise to go over the bulk of a Night Notions!

I haven't used one myself but have heard good reports of disana pull on wool pants over WNNNs

feralgirl · 22/03/2009 21:38

I had a pair of the disana pants and found that DS just got VERY hot in them which was a shame coz I thought they looked ace.

Thanks feralgirl. I was thinking about investing in some but won't bother now!

feralgirl · 23/03/2009 08:25

Mumoftoby, I'm using a popolini one at the moment which seems to be doing a good job if you're after a wool wrap; it's a bit fiddly round the edges but totally leak free so far. I just want something equally good for the occasions when it's drying and fancied a bit of variety.

feralGirl that's great to hear as I have a BN poloini wrap (the old style with velcro) that I won on ebay for about 5 pounds including postage. I am just waiting for lansinoh (also off ebay) to arrive so that I can get started using woolies!

mumoftoby · 23/03/2009 10:50

oh i've just thought - have you tried putting 'wanteds' on here and here
I got stacinator fleece wraps and WNNNs putting a wanted message on the yahoo one.

FluffyDavis · 23/03/2009 10:57

There is one here in the bargin section (near the bottom). I have used one of these myself and didn't get on with it, I can't remember why as it was a few years ago.
I ended up using woollywraps.

feralgirl · 23/03/2009 19:47

Fluffydavis, thanks but that one's a small and DS will be too big in about five minutes. Gutted, I got all excited then too...
Mumoftoby thanks, will be posting forthwith!

And if I can't find one then I'll have a go with a woollywrap, cheers for the advice.

Ooh nappiesgalore might have one... will email her.

duvetheaven · 23/03/2009 22:51

Feralgirl try this site - treehuggermums.co.uk. It says they have one Medium left?? Cheap reusables too.

FluffyDavis · 24/03/2009 09:29

There was one medium on there as well, someone must have bought it! probably my fault for linking to it, it's been on there for ages...
I think I didn't find the rise high enough but not sure.

Flamesparrow · 24/03/2009 09:32

I can get two large, but not mediums - they come up small though apparently

feralgirl · 24/03/2009 11:22

I think I tried treehuggermums a couple of days ago and it did something weird so I assumed it was gone and it just hadn't updated.
Flamesparrow, is nappiesgalore this? I couldn't figure it out! or is she a MNer?

Does anyone know why the stac wool is so hard to come by? Have they been discontinued or summat?

OP posts:
feralgirl · 24/03/2009 11:26

Flamesparrow, i just read your second message properly (concentrating more on DS than on 'puter). How small do they come up? DS is skinny but wears a WNNN which gives him a massive arse! I could grab one now for him to grow into I s'pose. How much £££s?

OP posts:
Flamesparrow · 24/03/2009 11:57

Lol sorry she is/was an MNer.

Afaik they are brand new, so £10 each plus postage? (Seem to be £15 from shops). One is blue, one is green.

I would guess it is an exchange rate issue. Most stacinators were sold by wahms and we're all struggling a bit to be able to afford US nappies and wraps to sell here as by the time we factor in shipping and currency it would mean charging extortionate amounts to you iyswim.

Same reason why I can't get any more berry plush or sugar peas for a while

feralgirl · 24/03/2009 19:33

that times are tough but that you can get me what I want! You are the best dealer ever! I think I will go crazy, take both and sod the expense; DS is too young to understand the notion of child benefit anyway. How can I get the money to you?

OP posts:
thebluefoxategreensocks · 24/03/2009 22:07

Just to say that I'd agree about the wool Stacinators coming up small - I have a Toddler sized one and it's not very high in the rise. It's possible it was shrunk by previous owner, but guessing they're just more of a fitted type cover? Certainly very trim and unbulky for wool!

feralgirl · 24/03/2009 22:28

Planning on using wool more during the day as he gets bigger anyway so I'm sure they'll get plenty of use, even if they don't go over the WNNNs. I can always sell them on if necessary. They just look soooo nice! Thanks all for advice and stuff

Flamesparrow · 25/03/2009 18:22

ooh if you email me bumfluffnappies at gmail dot com - we can sort it out. I should have them in my hot sticky little hands tomorrow (well, less of the sticky )

feralgirl · 25/03/2009 19:36

Flame, have just done so. Cheers.

Sorry to hijack but flamesparrow I am looking for a large wool wrap for my DD - don't suppose you can help at all? I have bought a few preloved shorties but don't understand all the sizing! They have all been too small so far!

BeehiveBaby · 25/03/2009 20:19

I have some slightly shrunken large ones you can have for free. One has a fixed popper and thay are brightish green. They are the bees knees

BeehiveBaby - was that message for me? If it was I would love them!! But don't want to pinch them if it was for feralgirl!
