DS won't poo on potty

He take himself off to wee fine but he has only done a poo a couple of times, and otherwise goes in his pants.

I've heard this is quite common, any tips?

I never thought i would praise a poo so much! (he did do one this afternoon)

There are so many different answers to this one, here are a few!!

Take away the pants...

put a nappy in the potty...

give him some privacy...

star chart...

special reward...

put pants in bin if poo'd in, let ds know they had to be thrown away...

put ds on toilet instead...

let ds see you poo on toilet...

check that poo isn't becoming difficult ( anxiety about pooing cause consipation)...

give extra dried fruit...

I would however like to say that I don't necessarily agree with all of these answers, but they have all been suggested to me by more experienced mums.

Personally I wouldn't worry too much. All children potty train eventually and in their own time. One day you'll suddenly realise its been ages since he had an accident!
