Nappy virgin needs some help

Just taken delivery of my new pop-ins (proud emoticon)
I know I need to wash the before I use them but at what temp and do I need to use detergent?

just cold and with no detergent should be fine. Mind you it is just so they reach full absorbancy so don't faff around washing them too much. I got a pop in recently (love it by the way, if they'd existed when I first started with nappies I'd have gone for them) and used it without washing because I'm way too impatient and it was still really absorbant.

I'm off to wash them. I got them after I got the free sample, dd is 16mo but figured they will be good for no. 2 if it ever arrives and they aren't too expensive.
