Tommee Tippee discontinued dummies

Hi, my ds has the tommee tippee orthodontic dummies that were discontinued last year. I can't get any more and I can't get him to take another dummy. He's 17 months old but awful at sleeping (another topic!) so he still has a dummy for the car and in bed. The ones we have are now horrible and I don't know what to do - I've seen some other threads on these dummies, what has everyone else done? thanks

I managed to get a few from the lovely ladies of Mumsnet, but recently bought 2 very cheap cherry style Sainsburys own brand dummies that Ds has taken to without too much hassle. Any other has been rejected!

Use it as a chance to get rid completely?

I'm not sure its the right time to get rid of it completely, he's sleeping really badly during the night and the dummy does help him and I'm 7 months pregnant. If i can't find any other solution I might have to get rid of them completely - i'll try the cherry ones though - thanks.

Are they the white ones with little pink/blue ducky things on them?

We have exactly the same problem, and have been unable to find a suitable replacement, so am currently using ones which are, frankly, a bit knackered...

I reckon we've got another couple of weeks before our existing ones fall apart completely. Don't know WHAT o'm oging to do then.

I've had a suck on some of the others (for research purposes). Many are a funny shape, and make it critical that they are replaced the right way up, which DD is unable to do in her sleep and hence wakes up, quite annoyed. Others are the right shape, but are clear plastic rather than latex and have an annoying ridge where the tow halves have been joined together. Some have a really big front part to them which I think DD find uncomfortable to sleep with as she sleeps in her front.

Do you think it's worth petitioning Tommee Tippee

i got replacements of the closer to nature ones from the tommee tippee website. They weren't exactly the same but the way they move is and that was fine for DS3.

you have the same problem as me designerbaby, I've spent a fortune on loads of other dummys including tommee tippee ones and he won't accept them. i'm goign to have to try the option of giving them up completely - our ones are horrible I can't keep giving him them. I wrote to tommee tippee at the time they stopped them - i don't think they care to be honest.

I wrote to Tommee Tippee way back when I first had the problem and their reply stated that there was a manufacturing problem so they had no choice but to discontinue them.
They were very nice about it in a "nothing we can do for you" kind of way!
Newmum07 and Designerbaby _ do have a look at the ones in Sainsburys.
They aren't exactly the same shape as the Tommee Tippee ones, but are a smaller size 'cherry' style which are similar.
My ds rejected loads of others, but is fine with these ones.

Hi, My daughter would only take these dummies and I tried loads of others. She finally took Asda Cherry Soothers. Really cheap about 80p for two. They are a similar shape to Tommee Tippee but the cherry shape is slightly bigger which helped it stay in her mouth. Worth a try?

I've had the same problem with the tippee latex cherry ones. Have found she will take the boots latex cherry ones, it was because they changed the shield shape on them, I think.

If you go onto ebay and type in tommee tippee dummy there are still quite a lot of people selling the old style ones. They are roughly about £15 for two brand new in box. Expensive but absolutely worth it!!!

hi can someone please help my daughter has had sainsburys basic dummies since she was born and she has now lost her last one and cant find them anywhere and wont go with any or dummie and she is really upset can anyone help thanks in advance
