Hello

I will be having a CS in a couple of months when DD will be 15 mo. I live on the continent and normally you stay in 7 days but I have cover for 5 so will be in that long as they gear your care around this sort of stay.

PIL are coming to help DH with DD. I wonder if DD will be upset - does anyone have experience of leaving a child of that age for this long?

I left my DS at 15 months when i went in to hospital to have my 2nd child. I was away for 4 days, he stayed with my mom, saw my hubbie every day and came to see me in hospital. he wasn't at all phased by it. he was happy to stay with his Gran, and wasn't really aware of all the upheaval to be honest.

he was more interested in new balloons for the baby, than the fact that i was there with a new brother.

Your DD will be fine, is she used to spending time with your PIL and DH?

Good luck, hope all goes well for you

My DS was 15 months when I went into hospital to have DD too.. He was having such a wondering time with his grandparents that he was always happy and smilie when he came to see me.

In fact he was obviously fine as the little tinker decided to take his first steps....

It will probably be you who will be more upset at being away from her ...
