ok, I realise everyone else seems to manage but I just don't get it!!!

any ideas on good options? I'm terrible with things like this & don't want to screw up my son's savings!

One thing to remember is that your child owns the money when they turn 18.

For that reason I personally don't think it's a great idea to save a huge amount in the trust fund, in case they go nuts and blow it all.

We intend to save in a separate account as well (not done it yet because no £££)

We have a stocks and shares one for both dc. At the moment with the way the markets are they are going down in value but hopefully in 15 years' time they will have picked up again

you can also do the low risk option and open a plain old savings account, where the money is not invested in the stock market. All the leaflets they give you are pretty good with explaining the options.
