I hate my washable nappies. Can I sell them?

We got some bambino mio nappies for DS2. I was quite excited about using them. But from day 1 they leaked badly and he always had nappy rash. We decided to use disposable nappies and he hasn't had any nappy rash since.

Can I sell them? I'm not sure if people would want them.

I am a bit annoyed about it TBH as I really wanted to use them.

ARe they prefolds? They are the least reliable/easy to use.

I'm not sure. They are just a rectangular piece of cotton which we fold then put it into a wrap.

They are these

They are the leakiest nappies known to man but will sell at an NCT Nearly New Sale. Or any unused will sell on eBay. Would have been fine before the ban on used nappies there. I like the wraps, could keep those and try with terries and fleece liners underneath?

CarGirl · 09/03/2009 19:43

yes they are prefolds. You could buy some pocket nappies which are special wraps and you just pop the prefold in the middle, you get fewer leaks and they are all fleeced lined so they stay drier and it should cut out nappy rash.

They don't have much resale value (the actual prefolds that is) wraps may sell okay.

kayzr · 09/03/2009 19:45

I might try getting some different wraps and see if they are any better.

What wraps would you suggest?

wraps alone won't help that much.

I would recommend buying ecobumble nappies £3 each from easypeasy and using the prefold to stuff them, your existing wraps should be fine on top although you may have to go up a size
sorry going out now but will check back tomorrow

Thanks. I'll get some and try it.

Oh, or just keep them and use them for other things! I was given a load of prefolds but didn't get on with them and now use them as a changing mat, to put under DS when I let him kick about nappy-free, to soak up the wee spray when he misses or clean up spilled drinks (they are fab for things like this as they are so absorbant) and just generally as cloths and protection for carpets/sofas etc!

I did the same - got tonnes of bambino mio that I don't use as I find them awful. BUT we are still here, 14 months down the line, in washable nappies. We have just got some much better ones that don't leak.

I think bambino mio suck so many people into buying their nappies and I don't know many people who get on with them!
