Ok so DD 2.5 did GREAT her first day on the potty. went wee 4 times and pooed on the stairs and kitchen floor LOL.. I wasnt in the room at the time to run her to the toilet.

TODAY however she wouldn't tell daddy she had to wee and so he caught onto her signs and ran her to the potty to wee and she gave him a big fuss.. although she still went and daddy gave loads of praise she was still sobby afterwards. THEN we went to dinner and at the table told me she had to go potty so we went to the ladies room and she put on a fit...now I'm not sure if this was about the potty not being the one we're used to or that she was having a bad day... so I showed her its ok and wee'd to show her its ok and she wee'd her pants.......

She also has a runny nose adn when she's sick she takes it really bad and I'm also wondering if that had anything to do with it....

What do you think moms...did you have and trouble the second day or anything

I had my daughter dry for one week until the novelty wore off - they get really excited about getting it right to start with, but keeping the momentum is hard work.

My daughter was shy of telling anybody but me that she needed the loo, so might be why she wouldn't tell dad.

Some kids will only pee in their potty at home - I think that's quite normal too.

I put my daughter back in nappies several times after failed attempts (I think I've read you're not really meant to do that). In the end, she just one day asked to wear pants instead of nappies, and effectively didn't really need to be potty trained. As long as they know what the potty's for, and they realise other kids aren't wearing nappies, they'll soon want to conform - nothing like peer pressure!
