where in Surrey are you?

Windsor Great Park (Savill Gardens/ Virginia Water lake) and Wisley a favourite for us. Don't suppose you're a national trust member?

CarGirl · 01/03/2009 22:01

Can you use your Tesco vouchers to get a Merlin Pass - go to Chessington, Thorpe Park & Legoland all for free for on them????

Play grounds any good

The one in Weybridge is fab.

Brooklands museum but a little pricey IMO

Car place next door is free though mercedes benz world.

The Surrey Downs are good for walks, Headley Heath has huge highland cows which always amuse kids, sometimes there are organised easter egg hunts etc.

The Spectrum near Guildford, bowling, swimming and ice skating.

How old are your DCs?

Depends on which part of Surrey, where is mIL.

samanthar · 01/03/2009 22:17

Garsons Farm near Esher. No fruit picking yet but nice cafe and fab shop of the sort that Mils might like. Wisley is Royal Horticultural Society Garden off the A3 near M25
Leatherhead soft play pretty hellish in school holidays. At the Leisure Centre and is acalled Crazyv Tots
NT Polesden Lacey should be first port of call if near Dorking but can be pricey depending whether you are members but great for picnic and running about if weather ok
Swimming at Dorking or Leatherhead
Run around up on /by Epsom Racecourse and lunch
Reigate has a fab park and a good Strada restaurant there and failing all else
Pizza Express in Dorking is lovely.
Direct train to London for Great Escape as required
Easter egg hunts will be everywhere too

MilaMae · 01/03/2009 22:21

Thanks Sam direct train to London as great escape already high on the list(see other thread)

Is Wisley free?

If Mil is a member she might be able to take you and them in too but only if she has a dual membership thingy.

giantkatestacks · 01/03/2009 22:29

Wisley is 8.50 for adults and under fives free...

PlumpRumpSoggyBaps · 01/03/2009 22:46

Oxshott Woods are good for running around, also Box Hill and Leith Hill. (HUGE meet-up of motorbikes on Sundays at Box Hill car park, if any of your lo's are keen on those.

Agree with CarGirl- Weybridge Park is ace (but am a bit biased )

Also, for something for just a short while, there's a small museum above Weybridge library- I believe other libraries gave similar.

Guildford Castle and a walk along the river at Guildford. V pretty.

Hampton Court Palace -gardens only though (free) Entry price to palace horrific!!

Erm.....

The Look Out Discovery Centre in Bracknell (M25 jn12/M3). Fantastic for kids up to around 11 yo. Outdoor picnic tables, woods, large wooden fort play area and smaller kids play area ... all free. You do have to pay to go inside though (not sure how much), but we spent all day there the other week and didn't pay a penny took packed lunch. If they have bikes, there is also v. long bike trail.
