It's driving me mad!! He's 22 months old..I'm 30 weeks pg and and too exhausted to start potty training..I was wondering if anyone elses DC did this. I'm sick to death of washing his cot bedding daily...any suggestions as to what I can do about it. Btw..I've tried pull ups and popper vests..he can negotiate them all!

babygro - put it on back to front

if he can undo all those poppers then he is related to Houdini!

yup my sons the same!
he did it last night cos i put a normal nappy on instead of his dry nights.

im am going to put dry nights on and a button under vest AND a babygrow.

let him get out of that!

god knows what i will do when the summer rolls round.

ruby - don't you believe it - I had DS2 at 14 months getting out of an inside out, back to front gro-bag (with a zip!!)...........oh wait maybe he is related to Houdini

Azure - do you use the brand pull-ups or that cheap ones. I've found the branded ones that have kind of "velcro" on the sides are incredibly easy to get off, whereas the cheaper ones that you actually have to phsycially tear are a little more difficult for them as they have to pull down.

FAQ goodness me! what did u do in the end?

kateecass · 01/03/2009 09:52

My DS did this also when I was PG. Only a few times. Your DS is not necessarily ready. He also showed signs of wanting to potty train when baby was a week old, he was 26 months then. We ignored it, so not happening with a tiny baby. Finally potty trained him at 2.6 years with about 4 accidents in a month.
What about putting the nappy on back to front also. FIL has done this by mistake on the one occasion he did change DS's nappy.

I can't remember - think he just gew out of it in the end - well actually he discovered at about 16/17 months that he didn't need to get out of the gro-bag to climb out of the cot so didn't bother anymore.

I remember a thread where someone recommended gaffer tape for this exact problem.... worth a try

Thanks for all your replies It's a relief to hear I'm not on my own. I went to Asda yesterday and bought some cheap pull ups and 3 babygro's. Got DS up this morning and very pleased to report that he hasn't managed to take his nappy off! Long many it continue...thanks again.

My DS went though a stage of doing this when he was just over 2. We would go through in the middle of the night to find him starkers and giggling! He just grew out of it - He is a houdini child and can get out of anything though.
Its very irratating though especially as he would then sit and complain he was cold!
Some great suggestions on here hope something works for you
