Just received 'Unconditional Parenting' by Kohn and it says exactly how I feel but I coudldn't articulate!

Has anyone else read this? I am only just half way through the first chapter but my neck is sore through copious head nodding! I even rang DH at work to declare how he MUST read this book.

It's just about encouraging intrinsic motivation rather than using rewards and punishments. Tricky to summarise but the whole feel of the book is just 'me' both as a mum and a teacher. Verypleased to have found it - along with The No-Cry Sleep solution

I liked the Pantly book. It didn't work all that well but we did feel better about things!

I haven't read it but sounds a bit like Robin Grille's Heart to Heart Parenting, which is a brilliant book. Also you might like these talks on Non Violent Communication for parents:
