Pop-ins are smelling all of a sudden

I'm 15 weeks pregnant and possibly have a particularly keen sense of smell, but the nappies are coming out of the wash smelling of poo.

It happened at Christmas and I had to wash them another twice without detergent to get rid of the smell. We use a half dose of non bio powder, cold rinse first and extra rinsing at the end. The other nappies in the wash (cotton - bimbles and tots) don't seem to be affected.

Any ideas? It's making me sick!

I had some bamboo nappies smell after I accidentally did them on a synthetics 40 wash rather than a cotton 40 wash. I did a quickwash on cold with no detergent followed by a 60 wash with a bio tablet, and extra rinsing. They've been fine since then.

I always wash on 60 cotton wash. Wonder if bio would help?

I have always used bio. I know that is bad because your not meant to, but unless your DC have a reaction to it, I would give it a try. I use a half dose but haven't even needed to do an extra rinse or anything and had no reactions.
