Very leaky wool wraps. Am I doing something wrong?

My ds is 13m. It's my first try of wool wraps. I have 1 pair of woolly shorts and 1 swaddlebees. I've lanolised them about 6 times now, but we're still having terrible problems with leaking. He's my first baby so I've nothing to compare to, but I think he may be a 'heavy wetter'! He wears a baby beehinds bamboo nappy with 2 x long night time inserts in them. Despite that sometimes he has even leaked through all his clothes, the sleeping bag and onto the bedsheet(totally saturated). I've followed the instructions for lanolising. Is there anything else I should be doing or do I just have to persevere and keep lanolising? Because they have gotten so wet (not soiled tho') , I've re-washed them prior to re-lanolising. Should I just have been letting them dry out then re-lanolise? Have I been washing all the lanolin out by washing them so frequently? Thanks for your help
