tried my dd when she just turned 2 years old, she is now 2 years and 4 months. she was'nt ready the last time and was having so many accidents, after a couple of days i put her back in nappies as i did'nt want to push her. this time i want to not turn back and start off with some fab advice and tips on what worked for you?

We didn't do the whole "stay in for 3 days" thing as I'd have gone mad. She was in pants in the house and pull-ups when out - at the beginning she got a chocolate button for sitting on, one for staying on for a couple of mins, and one if she did anything. I'd also read a story while she was sitting, just to get her relaxed and distracted. It worked remarkably well and quickly, but it was really apparent that she was just ready, once we'd started, so much of it comes down to that.

It's not necessary to stay in, but I kept outings short, and made sure I only went out when they had just done a wee, and hadn't had a lot to drink for a while, and didn't stay out for more than an hour without a potty.
Stickers work well, and the My Wee Friend potty sticker is a fantastic!

Brilliant fun, and a real incentive to get them to wee!

Chocolate buttons are fabulous things .
Apart from that, we just did the obvious - wearing pants only, no trousers; watching like a hawk; play dates with already potty trained influential friends; potties throughout house.

they are great ideas, the last time i tried i had real trouble getting her to sit on the potty for longer than 10seconds! and then she would have a wee on the carpet 5 minutes later
