I need to 'pick' 2 articles for my OU essay - where on earth do I start?

The suggested texts are fairly uninspiring & I work in childcare so my issues are fairly specific

I'm off to look at OFSTED's website but I'm not sure if these sort of reports would be acceptable

Any hints or tips

Could you find articles in a suitable journal via the OU website?

Katy would the Alfie father at 13 thing not be a good one - you could look into the changing faces of society over the years in the early 20th century it was common to have babies at a young age etc etc,the effects of a society with young parents etc you could bring in welfare benefits etc etc and you could even link to other disease like stds and mention the cervical cancer screening?

Or is that totally off the plot??

I'm doing management & I need to find articles I can apply management theory to (I think)

I am playing with the OU website - but the stuff is quite old

I have to place me & my organisation within it's environment & the issues it (& I) is/are facing
Then I pick 2 articles and use theories relate to the articles
Then I use those theories to relate back to where the organisation & I currently are

I think.....maybe?

would this be an 'acceptable' article?

I could link it to Maslow & also to enpowerment with Kinlaw? and look at monitor & evaluation and control loops?

Not studying business management so can't be of much help I'm afraid, but does the TMA guidance not suggest what sort of article to look at? i.e. academic, institutional (government publication for eg), public (press articles)

They gave us a book - which is limited plus the tutor said he would like it if we could use our own articles

When you look on the OU library - how do you read the article - I get as far as a page which tells me about an article then I don't know whatt o press to enable me to read it?

There should be a link somewhere to the full text; if not, then the OU may not have subscribed to that publication or the issues from that year (iyswim).

What I do is search for journal articles using Google Scholar, then I open the OU Library and locate the article through the e-journals section. Because I find the OU library search facility a pain.

I thought I was being stupid struggling with it

Google scholar - hmm I'll have a play
