Mine-emptying 1 beanbag chair full of static polystyrene beads (am mid-calf deep in them atm), putting the chair itself through the wash, drying it, and refilling it again (has taken since 7pm) as dd loves the chair to bits, but it was so stained/gross if I didn't wash it I would have to throw it away.

Oh my goodness, that is a show of love like no other! I can't stand those polystyrene beads! I'll be intersetd to know if anyone can top that!
Mine would be finding all the itty bitty bits of jigsaw and putting them back in the right boxes so that next tine ds1 wants to do a puzzle, he just takes it out of the box and voila! Good as new! (We've done the whole tidying up together bit but those pieces just go awol even with the best tidyer-uppers!)

I throw jigsaw bits I find away , so you may well trump me as at least yours is educational! I also throw bits of mecanno, and throw all playsets into a box together as they are just too fiddly when you get to polly pocket/littlest pet shop size!

I'm with you on the bung-it-in-a-big-general-box if it's smaller than a Sylvanian families baby bear!!

They get shoved in drawers instead! Poor dd just sticks to pens and paper as it takes her too long to sort through everything otherwise!

lol
I do try and go through the drawers of tiny bits and bobs and chuck out things that haven't been played with for ages or were free on the front of a kids' magazine but I have to make sure it's done when ds1 is at school or he'd give me a hundred reasons why each item should be kept!
It was a triumph that he parted with some duplicate toys for his cousin and some for the charity shop when we moved house! I'm determined he won't grow up to be a hoarder!

Pawslikepaddington · 20/02/2009 01:05

I am a hoarder so dd is doomed really! Last lot of balls up at last-am off to bed! Phew! What a waste of an productive evening
