Sleeping on a different floor from toddler?

Hello,

We are thinking of moving older DD when she is just over 3 to a room on a different floor from us and younger DS from our room into her room on our floor.

DH is keen that this will work, I feel okay about it but worry DD will feel alone?

Anyone else sleep on different floors from the DC or is it a big no no??

My 3yr old ds' room is the attic room. We still use a monitor and have a smoke alarm outside his door. He loves his big boy room. I'm expecting dc2 in july and if it's a boy they will share as it's the biggest room in the house (and we'll get to keep our junk room )
