Been over 2 years since I brought nice new fluffy newborn nappies – what’s good out there now?

Am expecting again and am seeking nappy opinions!

When DS was a newborn I brought a lot second-hand to try and settled on the Motherease Onesize. When he grew out of the small nappies I sold off the ones I didn?t like, but I did find the Onesize a bit bulky on a newborn, so I am going to use a selection of smaller nappies until new baby fits into them. However, my newborn/small stash is not enough to full-time nappy and I need to buy some more, and I will be getting mostly terries/prefolds but want just a few nice, new shaped ones too!

So, my question is (if you?ve got though all that waffle) what ones do I buy? Budget is limited, so want to select just a couple of the nicest, cutest, fluffiest or most show-off-able nappies I can!

In my current small stash I have a standard Minki and a slinki Minki, a Huggle, some Motherease Sandys, a few old style Fuzzi Bunz and a couple of Little Lambs.

I have tried and got rid of:
Tots Bots cotton
Nature Babies Diddy Diaper, Dizzy Diaper, Stuffables sized version
Ellas House Bumhugger
Bumgenius
And probably a few others too

Have not tried:
Tots Bots Bamboo, Flexitots or Easyfit (is Easyfit a pocket/one-piece nappy)
Swaddlebees
Wonderoos
Baby Beehinds
Easy Peasy Eco Bumble, Bumble, Bambeasy or Bimble
Nature Babies Onesize Stuffable Nappy - Version 2 I think

Which of the ones I have not tried do you recommended and can you think of any others?

Cheers girls!

Bimbles are lovely on a newborn.

Or for a bit of luxury swaddlebees OCV are gorgeous.

Easy Peasy's size 0's are lovely and tiny!
P'tits Dessous mini-maxi is similar to but FAR better than Wonderoos
Nature Babies Stuffables - you can still get the sized ones as well - love'em
Also love Nature Babies bamboo Lovables
Oh and the Sweet-Lili nappy AI2 range are GORGEOUS, but not many about in UK, due to exchange rate ATM!

Hiya
I have 3 newborn lolipop micros for sale, the are like little white balls of fluff. I'd do all 3 for a tenner delivered. I have an add on the for sale board of all my small and size 1 nappies.

Kissaluv size 0's are lovely on a girl but I had to stick flannels at the front for ds which made them quite bulky. He was a super wee-er as a newborn though, we had an oversupply issue that meant it all just went straight through him!

The totsbots bamboozles are lovely. Small size nice and snug on a newborn and they keep their softness, unlike my cotton totsbots which seem to be giving my dd2 a good exfoliation each time she wears them!

mumoftoby · 19/02/2009 21:06

Sorry I can't help with newbie nappy advice I swapped over from 'fakes' when DS2 was nearly 8 months, but I have 5 cotton tots bots and they are a last resort out of my nappy stash! My favouries are itti's.

BCLass · 19/02/2009 21:12

easy paesy bambeasy size 0. I love 'em!

rempy · 19/02/2009 21:14

Come to the pocket dark side.

Bumgenius v3 are really very good, and fit small ones well (come with a newborn insert now, which can be used as an extra booster for bigger babies).

LittleFairySmile · 19/02/2009 21:35

Didn't like Bumgenius too much, but only tried it on my toddler when they first came out over here. He seemed to wriggle out of it so it leaked. And it seemed bulky. Might have to try it on a more still new baby! The Fuzzi I liked, quite slim. Pockets I don't mind, but found they are more likely to leak. Tried Fuzzi, Nature Babies stuffables and a couple of others too.

LFS - Bumgenius I hated when they first came out, then I got some newer ones and they are great

For showoffable - wee notions are gorgeous as are berry plush.

for gorgeousness newborn the newborn swaddlebees ocv are stunning and cute.

for general good nappy - easy peasy are great.

nappyzonehasastroppytoddler · 20/02/2009 09:23

For two parters i agree any from the easy peasy range especially the bambeasy as its just oooo so fluffy. Pockets gotta be a Bumgenius/ Greenkids Minky or a ickle fuzzi for me. For an in between of the two then yey for itti bitti dlish though i have no experience of them on a newborn they are just so slim and snuggly and working a treat on my toddler
