I finished knitting my first ever pair of longies last week and last night, followed instructions for lanolising them. I put them flat on the airer to dry last night, but this morning they smell like a dishcloth that has been left to fester, they stink and I would not put them on my baby . I was really hoping to be able to use them tonight as wraps leave deep red marks in ds3's very chunky thighs (no matter how I do them up). What have I done wrong and is there any way to get rid of the smell without washing them?
