Is this a bad thing to do? Sleep related

Not sure whether this is quite the right place to post this, but anyway.

I sometimes put some music on quietly in DS's (6 mo) room when I put him down for a nap, it seems to help him settle. I put him down half an hour ago and I thought he'd gone to sleep. Just stuck my head in to check and he's there with his eyes open clearly listening to it, but not sleeping. Is it terrible of me to leave him there? I do want him to have a nap so I'm hoping he'll drop off.

If he's happy enough, just leave him to it.

If he's happy then what's the harm? If he was unhappy or needed something he'd soon let you know. He's just chillin' listening to some choons!

He's resting and thats the main thing, my DDs have all done this! So cute!

If he's lying there contented then no harm at all. If he's tired he will drop off to sleep when he's ready.

Thanks ladies. I felt a bit demented asking the question, but you know when you just need some reassurance!! I can hear some little snores now so I think he's dropping off [melt]
