Just curious really.

Almost all my RL friends have tended to potty train around the 2 year mark, give or take 3/4 months, but I've noticed on mn that loads of people advocate the 3 year old mark more.

I've had one done at 22 months, one at 26 months, and this dd is a work in progress, at 2 years exactly (started a few weeks ago). She seems to be much longer to get the hang of it than the others and I do wonder if I've done her too early, but tbh, I've really had enough of pooey nappies. The thought of not potty training until she's 3 fills me with horror, that would mean another 700 pooey nappies to deal with.

I know it can often be quicker to complete the process if you delay starting but are there any other reasons why you would want to wait? Am I more sensitive to poo than others?

16 months no more poo in nappies; 18 months, clean & dry days. Still in nappies at night (2 next week) but often dry in the morning. ... and it was easy and stress-free.

My eldest ds didn't like having a dirty nappy even as a small baby so he didn't take too long to potty train and was completely dry by 2.5. Waiting til your dc is ready and can recognise the signs they need to go will help make it a much shorter process I think.

"Read a piece about Mylene Klaas today who said she is potty training Ava, aged 17 mo. Why????!!!!!! "

Probably so she can style herself a potty-training expert and write a book about it.

DD was clean from 10 months and dry from 12 months. Though she had a 5 month regression wee wise when her baby brother arrived. That said she asked for a nappy for wees and still had bladder control just wanted nappies like him !!!

Back to big girl pants thank goodness, her pullups nappies cost too much. That said wee doesn't bother me that much but pooey nappies are not nice to deal with.
