Broody soon after DC2, will it pass?

Hi, Have also posted in pregnancy!

DC2 is only 11 weeks old but I have been broody for weeks now. Not sure if it is a hormone thing????

Anyway, will this broodiness ever pass? if so around when? if not then when did you go on to have your third? or do you wish you had gone for it if you hadnt? I never had this broodiness after DC1.

I had a 2nd c-section so really shouldn't even be thinking of getting pregnant right now!! argh!

Your thoughts/experiences on this very much appreciated!

Only had 1 dc so far but I was broody within about 2 weeks of her birth. Had emer c/s which went very well so I wasn't all traumatised by the pain of birth or anything.

It hasn't really passed (the broodiness) though it did stop being as strong. Dd is 15 mo and we've been ttc for a while.

I've been broody since ds2 was about 6 weeks! He is now 15 months and I'm even more broody!
I think its more about imagining my 'perfect' scenario of a family of 3 rather than wanting another newborn.

I was broody around that time after the birth of DS2.

It passed within a couple of weeks!

I remember being v.broody at this time after DS1 too. It did pass, but came back when DS1 was 1, hence DS2!

I had a horrendous VBAC (induced/failed pain relief etc) with DS2........yet 3 days after his birth I was wanting a 3rd. DH didn't want an another (think he was more traumatised by DS2's birth than I was!) but I fell pg (unplanned) 2 1/2yrs later with DS3.......

I'm still hankering after a 4th though - although I think that's highly unlikely since DH and I are tring to patch things up and I know he's dead set against having any more.

You have to find MrsMattie, she is in the same position. There was a thread about it yesterday i think.

Thanks!

Wintersun I feel like you in terms of imagining my perfect scenario rather than another newborn, although I am loving this baby stage much more than with DC1.

I've also posted on pregnancy and was told it could be the breastfeeding hormones causing broodiness!

It didn't pass for me! After DD1 I swore I'd never have another child and it wasn't until past her first birthday that I started thinking... well... maybe one more..... After DD2 I wanted another one immediately. No it didn't pass. Every time I heard someone was pregnant I felt insanely jealous (one friend who had her DC2 around same time as my DD2 got pg by accident about 6 weeks after the birth and I really was jealous - she thought I was mad!). In the end I discussed it with DH and we decided when would be a realistic time to try for another baby (I have also had 2 sections) and so I focussed on the time we had agreed and watched the months ticking away. Luckily I got pg immediately when we hit the 'go' date and DC3 due in April.
