We are on week 2 of potty training - wees fine but poos are not

Last week he only pooed in his nappy or in his pants

last night he pooed in the bath and was distraught

tonight he got upset - kept asking to do a wee but then couldn't as it isn't a wee that he needs, and then asking for a nappy etc

now, i don't want to give him a complex about:

a) doing poos
b) using the toilet

so what shoudl i do? I don#t want to give him a nappy to poo in but on the other hand i don't want to see him distressed

He is 2.6 and we have tried bribery incentives

DS was the same when we potty trained (which was last june) and he's only now getting ok at pooing.

It's taken a lot of praise, sticker charts, bribes etc and laxatives. You would have thought he'd got an oscar sometimes the amount of appaulase he got for going.

Ds will still only poo on a potty, not the toilet.

keep going and try to make sure he has enough fibre and fluids so that the poos don't hurt when he does go.

he is full of fruit and water and plenty of praise

LOL at Oscars - i know how you feel

so, need more stickers it seems ...

we made a treat box for DS. full of inexpensive tat mostly but things DS likes (oh and a few bits of chocolate). for a while whenever he did a poo he got to choose something from his treat box. it worked really well.
