He won't tell me that he needs to wee or poo!

My ds is 2.5 years and we have tried to potty train for the past few months. The first time we went cold turkey, and he had no clue what was going on. So we waited and tried again after a few months.
He now sits on the toilet sveral times a day after lots of encouragement from me. He does pee and even poo on the toilet, which is great. Unfortunetly though he never tells me that he needs to pee or poo and if i don't force him to sit on the toilet he would haappily do it in his nappy and not tell me that hes done it. Im not sure what to do, will he ever tell me that he feels a pee or poo is coming???

He'll get there eventually, dd took months to get to the point of telling me when she actually needed a poo even though she'd got the hang of doing wees. 2.5 is relatively young still, a lot of kids struggle with potty training until they are 3 at least. I remember someone saying (rpobably on here....) that if you start potty training when they are two you'll still be trying until they are three but if you start at three they'll probably crack it straight away.

It is bloody frustrating, I resorted to bribing dd with chocolate to do her poos only for her to start squeezing out as many as possible to get the reward - 10 in one day was the record. All I have to do now is go through it all over again with ds .
