I just seem to waft from 7am - 7pm and the days are just getting longer and longer. What is your daily routine, esp. with a baby and/or a pre-schooler? The only things that happen during the week is DS goes to pre-school two afternoons and one morning, and we go to Mass on Sunday mornings. Apart from that I just don't know what to do with myself. WHat do you do? ie. hour by hour. Thanks

Thats the winter schedule btw.
In summer toddler group/coffee is replaced by going to Farms and parks which luckily we have loads of round here and they cost very little. We also go to the beach which is only 30mins away. If we go out we try to collect things to make pictures/collages with.

LOL Ragdoll - so far you and I agree on wine at 7

I have nearly 3 year old DS and 20 mo old DD

Here goes:
6am ish Wake up, nappy changes, hot drinks all round (milk for DCs, coffee for rest of us)

7am DH leaves - get kids dressed - then I get dressed while DCs watch CBeebies

8am Breakfast, pack up for preschool run

9-12 depends on the day but DD and I always do something out of the house together e.g. playgroup, football, etc

12 collect DS and have lunch, or on the two days he stays till 3, we just lunch

12-3 naptime/cleaning/admin

3 collect DS if he's been to preschool or wake him up if he's been home napping with DD

3-5 playdates, playground, telly, snacks

5 tea with DCs

6 telly, bathtime, stories, milk

(goodnight with DH who comes home 6-7ish)

7 wine & food

9 Crash.

Somewhere between 7-8am - get up & have breakfast with DS (4) & DH if he is still at home. DD wakes around 5-6am for a bottle and then sleeps until 9/10am, so it's fairly straightforward getting DS ready.

8-8.45am - get DS washed & dressed, then he plays in his room while I shower and fling on some clothes

9am - Drop DS to nursery

9.30-11.15am - Do some shopping and go for a coffee/read the paper with DD sleeping in pram or go home and tidy up / MN a bit. Feed DD.

11.30am pick up DS, usually go to the playground next to his nursery for 30 mins or so

12-1pm-ish - Home for lunch

Afternoon, 1-4pm - differs. Park, swimming, see my mum, see friends or often just hang out and make it up as I go along.

4-5pm - DS is allowed to watch TV

5-ish DS has dinner and hangs around me in the kitchen chatting while I tidy up

6-7pm - Bathe & feed DD while Ds plays or watches TV, then put her down and get DS ready for bed. Story, night night, lights out.

7pm make me and DH dinner and chill

I should say, twice a week DH does some of the morning stuff while I go the gym.

Those of you that can't escape the housework to go out - remember the more you go out the less there will be to clean up.
