time capsule for niece's naming day ceremony - suggestions??

My niece is having a naming day ceremony and my SIL has asked for stuff to go in a time capsule as a keepsake for when she is older. I think space is fairly limited. She will be almost one so not sure whether it should be dated for this year or her birth year. Any suggestions for appropriate contributions appreciated.

This may sound daft, but a supermarket receipt (or a week of all shop receipts) showing a weekly shop and all the prices! I would find this riveting from 1970. Maybe any paper bits could be laminated or in a photo album, as they will be fragile?

Don't think it matters which year - birth would be best of all but ephemera like this would be unlikely still to be around from her birth year.

Her parents could write a piece about her birth and how it went (perhaps not all the gory details).

CD of the No 1 single in charts
Newspaper front page of the day.
Photobooth photos of your family.
A letter to her from you?

Er......

Photographs of the high street nearest to where she lives, showing what people wore and carried etc: try and get it as busy as possible with cars, buses and adverts showing. She may move house a dozen times before she opens the time capsule, but a picture of how her old hometown looked then would be fascinating. And I agree with choosy: laminate the pic to keep the colours even if the thing gets damp.

Programme from nearest cinema showing all the films that are on with reviews.

thanks for these suggestions - I have saved my online shopping itemized receipt - would never have thought of that, the newspaper cover with big ben in the snow and some pages from the boden kids catalogue and a parenting magazine. Will also be squeezing my family into a photo-booth this weekend. Can just imagine my niece in 17 years saying gosh doesn't aunty e look so young then....

thanks ladies
