anyone else have a 11 year old daughter that cries a lot and says she hates everything?

I am a single mum and finding this very difficult to cope with

she says she wants to move in with her grandparent

i think it is her age. Lots of things going on at that age. Puberty. Secondary school etc.

I am sure she will be back to her usual self.

My DD is 10 and is like this too, sometimes she cries and I ask her whats wrong, she says she doesn't know and just wants to cry.

I really think its her hormones

it is horrible she is on the phone to my mum now in her room saying i am fed up of feeling like this and crying everyday
I want to come and stay with you

Dd is very much like this. I put it down to her disability and trauma in her past, and no doubt that is part of it, but hormones count too.

My 11 year old has quite a temper, she will fly off the handle and tell me she hates me, no wonder I havent any friends(!)- her favourite insult :0 and tell me I never listen. Once she has it out of her system she is fine, wants cuddles and is telling me she loves me!
Is she always upset and wanting to leave or are there times she is feeling close to you and seems happy?
Do her grandparents spoil her? Maybe she is thinking life would be like that all the time if she were living there! Try getting the grandparents on side and giving the message that home is with mum and they are for treat times.
They can be really hurtful, horrid little monsters (or is that just mine?). My husband and me divorced when she was 2 years old and got remarried when she was 7, and when she is angry with him she will say she wished I had never remarried him!
If you get a chance during a calm moment and she seems receptive try telling her how hurtful her comments are, she needs to see you have feelings too and are hurt by this.
