Are Bumgenius bulkier between the legs than Tots?

I'm seriously tempted to get a couple of Bumgenius to try, but looking at pictures of them on line they look pretty bulky between the legs.

The main reason I want to try them is because I'm getting mighty sick of the lumpy bumpy bulk on DDs hips that we get with Bamboozels. But, if it's that or more bulk between the legs I'm not sure its worth the expense...

I've got Nature Babies stuffables, Totsbots onesize and Bumgenius and bg's are the slimmest between the legs by a long way. I can't compare with Bamboozles cos have never used them but bg's are pretty slim fitting. Try looking on ebay, I saw one going at the mo for hardly anything (not mine btw, that would be sooo cheeky!! )

Thanks pbo, that sounds promising.

I'm not in the UK and for some reason they always charge stupid postage to here on Ebay... Thanks for the tip though

Hi

I've got bumgenius and tots bots (cotton at mo but had a few bamboozle size 1s). BGs are slimmer in my opinion. I tend to use BG during the day and only use the tots bots at night when i boost them so they are pretty massive.

I'd say they are definitely slimmer around the hips and no more bulky between the legs - especially if you have the tots bots that have the sewn in boosters in them.

Ah, thanks!

My tots do indeed have sown in boosters, TBH it's the bulk around the hips that bothers me most. As long as the BGs aren't actually bigger between the legs then it sounds good

How have the BGs stood up to washing and drying? Do they still look OK or do they start to look shabby quite soon?

I've been washing and drying (apparently they dry very quickly on radiators but I like tumbling cos I do it all overnight and they're ready in the morning) every other day for 3 weeks and they look as good as new but ... that's only 3 weeks so I'm not a good one to ask (sorry, that's such a pointlessly unhelpful comment [sheepish])

I think BG are definitely less bulky between the legs than Totsbots Bamboozles, and do also stand up well to lots of washing and drying. Mine look as good as new after 8 months use (although occasionally have to pick some fluff out of the velcro)
Another option, though, that is even slimmer between the legs is Totsbots Flexitots... very absorbent too. They are cut quite high on the hip which also reduces that bulky hip look. Might be worth a try..

Thanks! I've been brave and ordered a couple to try

pbo - Can I ask for details about the one on ebay? I just looked and it only found 2 results - one was for a huge bundle?

My BGs are the older version and, best part of 2 years down the line, the velcro is looking a bit shabby but works perfectly well.
One of the reasons I went for BG after trying quite a few different types was because they're a trim fit for smaller babies and don't have the bulk between the legs that Bumbles or ME do.

I've had my BG for a year and they still look great - I'm pretty evangelical about them in fact. They're so much better than the nappy laundry prefolds and shaped nappies we previously used DS is 2) Best thing is that the bit that's in contact with their bum feels dry even when they're very wet on the inside.
