Soaking through Bum Genius at night

LOVE my Bum Genius nappies but DS seems to soak through 1 normal insert and 1 newborn insert by 3am ( probably due to massive 7pm feed!). Nappy overflows and soaks vest, pyjamas and sometimes sleeping bag. Any miracle solutions or will i just have to try disposables at night?

a layer of hemp like a ellas house insert folded or a hemp insert/ booster or even bamboo from anywhere might work.... if the inserts are saturated you need more boosting.

There was a thread on night nappies last week - the consensus seemed to be that bg weren't good for night nappies. I super stuff mine at the mo but dd's only 9.5 wks and she's not a heavy wetter.I'll try and find the night nappy thread and bump

I use bg during the day and bumbles at night as had the same problem. In fact even during the day he needs his bgs stuffed with one normal insert and either 2 newborn inserts or one bumbles insert (which is a lot thicker than the bg ones). He is 2.6 though.

Yes i agree not the best for a night if need to mega stuff as if you over stuff you could end up with gaping bits. I have used bimbles and bumbles overnight - great stuffed to the hilt with a nice wooly wrap over em. The only other pockets that work are fleece ones like the minki or a drybee as have huge pockets and being fleece nice and breathable for an evening. Wonderoos and greenkids have a nice big pocket you can stuff also but they are pul lined so you dont get the breathability goodness of wool or fleece.

I can recommend Drybees... working from inside out I have a BG newborn insert, then 2 bamboo inserts and finally a hemp insert. Get the odd leak if ds is in for more than 13 hours (i.e. he is overslept slightly!) but very rare. need to make sure that this is a gap between end of insert and the pocket opening to prevent leakage - I had this problem to start with.
I love BG but they are not great at night - too much pressure on the microterry inserts squeezes the wetness out of the pocket.
