All you Health Visitors out there - Ive been told that boys have rushes of testoterone around 4yrs old?

My ds is 4 next week and recently seems quite emotional and dramatic. I was told that its down to rushes of testosterone. Is this true

Steve Biddulph talks about it - although he did not provide a study reference. I often hear people quaoting him on the testosterone surge, so it might actually be becoming one of those urban myths.

I've heard this before (as a hv) but have also been told that it's crap too.
