Should I or shouldn't I????

dd is almost 22 months. She's started asking to go on the toilet to poo.

Now it's quite a hassle getting her to the toilet and getting her nappy off (fitted plus wrap) in time. We do have a potty downstairs BUT she 's not hugely keen on it.

So, do I put her in knickers and try to go the whole hog with potty training or do I leave her in nappies & risk confusing her about it all? Or do I do something else I haven't thought about?

Could you get some pull ups? Not sure if they exist of the washable variety (although would have thought so), if not then could you make do with disposables as a temporary measure until you have the confidence and motivation to do the whole potty training thing?

I have some washable training pants that I use for trips to farmer ted's on my son who I am potty training, just as I don't want his 'accidents' going on other little ones who may be climbing right behind him etc. I have a paur of bright bots and 2 pairs of Motherease training pants. The minki yoyos look really good and were also recommended to me but I didn't think it was worth the expense as he is normally just in little undies.

I'd get some pocket nappies - they are easy to pop on and off and then you can encourage her to use the potty/toilet whenever she asks, or whenever you feel like offering (I offered when I was going to the toilet myself), without pushing the subject.

The washable training pants are really just slightly protected pants iyswim

true - they don't hold full wees etc, but the minki yoyos do. They are a pocket nappy that can be pulled up and down just like pull ups.

I've found that training pants of any description appear to have 'pee in me' written on them. DS2 has been running about bare-bummed and using the potty happily for a while now - it helps that I am VERY pregnant and don't get out much at the moment. He's now graduated to wearing trackie bums commando style (no pants). Might risk undies soon.

The bright bots training pants are almost like "proper" pants - and they will hold one wee for a very short time, so maybe worth a try?
