Newborn screams when poos - help!

My baby is nealy two weeks, and screams as if in pain when he needs a poo. It can carry on for twenty mins or so until he actually does it, but he doesn't seem to be overstraining and the result is liquid rather than solid so he doesn't really seem constipated. (Sorry if that too much detail!) Has anyone else experienced this?

This is so normal I think it is almost universal. I don't think it is pain as much as a strange and unfamiliar feeling for them - after all, they've never had to do it before! Don't worry.
My dd looks like an anguished tomato when she needs a poo!

I did wonder if it was just the strangnest of the feeling, but I have four kids, and he is the only one who has screamed like this. It took 45 mins last night to settle him cos he woke up for a poo. My dd used to do the tomato thing too .
