When I Had my first DC a friend of mine sent me a poem ( well, more of a paragraph really) writen by a mum to her daughter who was planning on becoming a mum. It was all about the highs and lows of being a mum, wacthing them learn to ride a bike etc...

A friend of mum had just become a mum and i would love to send it to her.

Trouble is i have lost it now. I have googled but i cant remember what it was called.

Could anyone help please...

Thanks

Bumping for you.

This isn't the poem you;ve described but it's one that my mum gave me when I had my DS . It always brings a lump to my throat

Go to sleep, Mum
I won't stop breathing
suddenly in the night

Go to sleep,
I won't climb out of my cot and
tumble downstairs

Mum, I won't swallow
the pills the doctor gave you or
put hairpins in electric
sockets, just go to sleep

I won't cry
when you take me to school and leave me:
I'll be happy with other children
my own age.

Sleep, Mum, sleep.
I won't
fall in the pond, play with matches,
run under a lorry or even consider
sweets from strangers.

No, I won't
give you a lot of lip,
not like some.

I won't sniff glue,
Fail all my exams,
Get myself/
My girlfriend pregnant.
I'll work hard and get a steady/
really worthwhile job.
I promise, go to sleep.

I'll never forget
to drop in/phone/write
and if
I need any milk, I'll yell

Thanks Charlie thats sweet and very true.

Thanks for bumping puzzlerocks.

I am gutted that I cant find the orignal poem. It must be in the internet somewhere, just dont know who wrote it and have no idea what to search for.

Wumpy I've read that before, but even for the second time I have tears rolling down my face. It's just lovely and so true.

I hope your friend likes it
