Good first holidays?

We have a gorgeous 4 month old daughter. We didn't go away for a holiday last year and really fancy getting away for a week this summer. Does anyone have any suggestions of good places to go with a baby? We don't want to fly anywhere so UK/Northern Europe are really our limit!!

We went to Cornwall with DD1 when she was a year old. We stayed one week in a B & B and the second week in a friend's chalet. It was perfect. Highly recommended as you don't have to worry about luggage allowances and being able to get the 'right' type of nappies etc. Also, self-catering combined with pub-meals made it very flexible and affordable.

look up baby friendly bolt holes, all over the country, and mean you don't need to take as much stuff with you

so how old will she be then? sadly am going to suggest centerparcs... people are really snobby about it but its easy with a baby and cheap out of school holidays.

She will be 9 months by then.

Thanks for all the suggestions so far.

We have no objections to Centerparcs...sister and BIL took my nephews there last year and had a great time. I was just wondering whether that would be better when dd is walking?

Scogliera - we took dd to CP when she was 4mo and came home after a day - v. stressful.

But we went back when she was 9mo and she absolutely loved it, loved the pool, all the other kids, it was great.

We are going twice in Feb - with friends and then family, and now she is walking about, I'm sure she'll love it even more.

We always go to Scotland for our holiday. You don't have to worry about babies getting too hot and we tend to do quite a bit of walking so just as easy with sling/backpack.
