I am 19 years old and a full time student doing my A-levels at the moment but hoping to go to uni in september. i'm also a lone parent living with my mum and dad. i have a saturday job where i work 8 hours a week for £6 a hour. i called up the income support people to let them know that i am working and they told me that my income support will go down to £32.50 a week. is this right or are they just being stupid? i don't think it seems right as i basically have a 6 day week where i'm busy all day and the 8 hours i do work is the only 8 hours i can spare whereas they're paying for people to sit in a house where they get their rent paid for them and they don't do anything with their time. can someone help me because me and my mum are convinced they've got it wrong. it would mean that basically i'd be working 8 hours on a saturday for £20!

thanks,

kate xx
