My son is 3years 3 months. He wees in the toilet and is occasionally dry through the night. But he will not poo in the toilet. It's not that he refuses to sit on, he just doesn't say anything and poos in his pants. He has never used a potty and he is not scared of sitting on the toilet, We encourage him to tell us when he needs to go, talk about it, let him watch us and we have tried bribery. It just doesn't bother him and we are at a loss at what to do next - please help!

bless! You have reminded me of how I used to tell the 'poo story' which involves daddy bear being upset by goldilocks and going off to have a poo in the woods to calm down (first he had to find the perfect leaf, the first leaf was tooooo prickly the second leaf was too slippery- you get the picture). Then there were the evenings spent 'talking' to the poo in her bottom to try and coax it out, long conversations where I also had to be the voice of the poo feeling nervous about hitting the water. My husband used to wander in, give me the disbelieving head shake and wander out. Ooo and that reminds me the other thing we did was a 'poo cloak' - essentially a towel over her head and body - she really did seem to want to hid away when she was pooing. I had forgotten about that as she is so off hand about it all now.

I'm having massive issues with my LG. She will be 4 in April. She has been using the toilet for number 1's since August and also been completely dry at night since too. Number 2's however. She has never done in the toilet and refuses to wear nappies to do a poo so will only poo in her knickers. We have tried reward charts, treats, getting her cousins to show her, take her into the toilet with me when I go. Nothing is working. Hubby does, however lose his patience but I don't say anything. Some advice would be much appreciated. Thank I in advance.
