Cannot believe it
just sooo proud of her

she asked to go on the toilet one day about a week or so ago and I let her
she peed
and then the next day she didn't want a nappy on
I let her wear pants and prepared for pee everywhere

we have had a couple of little wees and a couple of poos on the floor (one of which she cleared up herself lol)

but a week on and she is dry and consistent and asking for the toilet, wiping, trying to fluch

the poor wee thing is tiny, still in 12 to 18 month for some of her clothes and she cant get on the loo even with the stool we had for dd2 lol

soooo proud of her, just wanted to share

congratulations

SoupDragon · 26/01/2009 10:40

See, I'm sure we all told you to go with it when you mentioned her keenness before

LackaDAISYcal · 26/01/2009 10:40

you did all tell me to go with it
and I will say I really did not think it would be so easy
never beofre have I had a child that did this or a friend with a child who did this

I hear on here all the time about littlies doing this but tbh thought it was a bit of an exaggeration about the speed and ease

Wow that's fantastic! I had to post as my dd1 is also going to be 2 on 7th Feb and is fascinated with the toilet and potty, but only really wants to sit on it with her nappy on and has never actually done anything in the potty so I'm mightily impressed with Gecko!!!!

IAmTheNewQueenOfMN · 26/01/2009 16:49

all right tyhne, we will come and comnngratulate Gecko!
You should be proud.

claireybrations · 26/01/2009 20:05

Waaaaaah! It's not faaaaaaaiiiiiirrr!

DD decided no more nappies at about 20 months, did well to begin with but STILL needs reminding 100000000000000000x a day and STILL wets herself at least once most days. She is 2.8 now so it has been 10 months.

I've tried everything, the cod bootcamp, stickers, sweets, putting her back in nappies for a while, putting her on the loo at certain intervals you name it!

claireybrations · 26/01/2009 20:06

Oh and congratulations

IAmTheNewQueenOfMN · 26/01/2009 20:08

clairey, thanks

but I haven't said anythin about dd2, she is 4 in april and we have had nearly two years of what you describe
she is just about sorted out totally now

Ds is 3 on 9th Feb and he says he is going to wear nappies forever. He will not entertain pants or potty.

claireybrations · 26/01/2009 20:11

Oooh that makes me feel a bit better. I only know 2 people who have had difficulties, one has a bladder disorder and the other has just been diagnosed with diabetes which was making him wee constantly. 4 is doable...

MegBusset · 26/01/2009 20:15

Yay Gecko

DS (23mo) absolutely adores his potty, wants to sit on it all the time and says "Wee wee, wee wee!" enthusiastically as he sits on it... but has yet to actually do anything on it

Lionstar · 26/01/2009 20:18

Big cheers to Gecko - way to go girl! You are rightly proud, it's a big milestone.

I know what you mean about being too tiny to use the loo properly yet, cos I have one too - just to jump on your bandwagon DD decided to go dry on Boxing Day and we haven't looked back since, she was 22 months at the time (2 at end of Feb). She is/was a cloth bum, so has made a big difference to my wash load (still uses a night nappy, but we have had several dry nights since, so have just purchased a waterproof sheet for the cot!)

mum23monkeys · 27/01/2009 14:03

Hey, congratulations!!

I have a dd who will be 2 on 1st Feb. She cam out of nappies 3 weeks or so ago, and while she is clean and dry, I, like Claireybrations, have to do the million reminders and taking to the loo. Can't remember the others not asking for the loo in this way. Oh, they're all different.

Fantastic though, be proud!
