Help/a moan about the usednappy site

I've been bidding on 10 Bumgenius on usednappies.co.uk. Starting price was £40, so I bid up to £60. No one else had bid when I last checked, so it was still on £40 but saying reserve price not met - obviously I had no way of bumping the price up and I think you can see max bids on there, so unless anyone was going to bid over £60 there was no point in them bidding. Auction ended yesterday, but there doesn't seem to be any way of viewing the finished auction so I have no idea what happened (whether I was outbid or it just didn't meet the reserve price). Mainly I am just upset because I wanted to play with my new nappies!

I hate reserve prices.

You can watch the auction. I have done this before as I want to sell some of mine andd I wanted to see what they tend to go for.

If you've not watched it though, I dont know if you can see the details.

I didn't watch it because I was bidding on it. Meh! I'll know for next time ...

I tried putting some buy it nows on yesterday, totally impossible, neither myself nor DP could do it. Rubbish x 100!

Ah, I think you are probably best off not buying BumGenius second-hand anyway - with no guarantees as to how they will have been treated.

BGs can be quite sensitive - the outers go crispy and leaky if they are dried on radiators, for example, and the inners get coated and non-absorbent if you use bum-cream.

I hardly trust my DH with mine - he is a bum-cream fan and 'forgets' DOH and never fastens the laundry tabs.

Eek - I bought some off thenappysite yesterday! Never mind, will just give them a go and then maybe get some new ones (I already have quite a stash and have promised DH I will sell some of the ones I already have now that I have BG on the way! )

They arrived today and look fine and still seem nice and soft. DD has seen fit to test our first one with a big yellow poop, which it seems to have contained well. However, you can see the poo from the outside - what was once a lovely blue BG now has a big yellow patch on it. It doesn't seem to be on her clothes though. Does this mean that it's leaked or is it okay?

We have just started using BG and think they're great. DS's BF poos are sometimes everywhere - on the tabs, to the edges but as long as it doesn't go out onto clothes, I count it as not leaking! Not long until weaning for us when I hope for some 'solidity'.

Hmm you know having seen some of my friends' babies nappies who are just starting weaning I think I'd prefer milk poos!
