I am not very good at stopping myself from shouting at the kids. I am not going to make excuses even though I am feeling crap and fed up atm as I am meant to be an adult.

I want to have some time away on my own. Not feasible atm so what do you do when you feel you are losing it?

I put myself in timeout. I vent my anger and frustration in cleaning - cleaning the range cooker is particularly good and I don't think it would get done otherwise!

we went on a parenting course a few uears ago and she recommended making sure you have a phone a friend number next to or programmed into the phone..

at the point your child's attention seeking is getting properly on your tits and you are going to explode - phone a friend. Talking to them not only calms you down but also shows the child that you are actively ignoring their tantrum.

Haven't done it myself yet but keep it stored for when I may need it.
